Ahmed Sofi Saudi Arabian, b. 1993

Ahmad Sofi is an oil painter from Jeddah whose surreal works delve into the complexities of perception and reality. Beginning his journey in 2015, Ahmad has developed a distinctive style influenced by the metaphysical art of Giorgio de Chirico and Carlo Carrà. Through his art, he explores themes such as understanding and misunderstanding, conception and perception, and the epistemological foundations of art. By distorting and reimagining reality, he aims to capture hidden truths within the outer world, challenging viewers to question the nature of what they see versus what truly is. His work invites contemplation on the ways our perceptions shape—and often distort—our understanding of existence.

Ahmad has showcased his work in group exhibitions internationally, including Title...Pending in Glasgow, Scotland (2023) and Sindbad, I Can See Land in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2024). Ahmed is currently based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
